HOMEMADE PAROTTAS

I wanted to prepare parotta in home for a long time, so finally i gave it a go the past weekend. It was not so hard but definitely a long process. It really tasted good . Everyone can give this a try.

INGREDIENTS:

FOR DOUGH:

All purpose flour/maida-1/2 kg

Warm milk-300ml

Oil

Sugar-1tblspn

Salt

FOR MAKING PASTE:

Oil-1/2cup

Maida-1/2cup

PREPARATION:

*Mix every ingredients in a bowl and form a dough,cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 4 hours.

*In another bowl add 1/2cup maida and oil and it to a smooth paste.

*Divide tha dough to equal portions.

*Take a dough ball and spread it to thin chappati , now spread the maida oil(paste) all over the chappati and cut the spreaded chappati into strips , take all the strips together and roll it . Set it aside in a plate and garnish it with some more oil. Repeat it with all the dough balls and cover the plate with damp cloth.

*Take the dough and make it to a thicker parotta.

*Heat the tawa on high heat and place the parotta over it , cook it with oil on both sides till it is golden brown.

*Stack the parottas and beat them with both hands till the flakes separates.

*Serve hot.

The parottas where really good. Many of my close associates insisted me to upload videos and stepwise pictures but cooking itself is a hard chore with my baby girl. Will see what can be done with my upcoming blogs. Till then,,,
