They start leaving each other notes – first it’s about leftovers, and baking, and chores. Then it becomes about her ex boyfriend, and his imprisoned brother and their work lives. From flatmates to friends to something more.
REVIEW
The outline of the story was good but the whole concept of flatsharing and not seeing each other was bit unrealistic. Tiffy trying hard to get over her ex-boyfriend was okay but I feel the whole concept of not knowing what happened in the past and how she unravels the memory with the help of her friends was quite overdone because how can she forget everything from her past unless she has selective amnesia (seriously!!!). The way how her boyfriend was following her and giving her nightmares was put together well at the beginning but when he proposed to Tiffy infront of huge crowd and told everyone that she said yes, when actually she didn’t give any answer was bit dramatic . Leon has a brother named Richie who has been imprisoned for armed robbery which he didn’t commit, it is said that Leon’s lawyer didn’t take the case seriously and once Tiffy’s friend Gerty takes the case things get in control which was not catchy and the whole case thing was baffling. The way, the love between Leon and Tiffy blossomed was not heartwarming and the romance looked forced and it happened so quick. There is a small plot in the story where they go in search for Johnny White for the sake of Leon’s patient Mr.Prior was lacking definition. The writing was average throughout the book. The overall story might be good but when we go deep into the book it was substandard.
“Remind myself that there is no saving of people —people can only save themselves. The best you can do is help when they’re ready.”
“It can take people time to notice and process emotional abuse”
