The Kiss Quotient’s protagonist, Stella Lane has been diagnosed from Autism/ Asperger’s syndrome. Stella is a successful econometrician who finds it easy to handle numbers than humans. Our Stella is not good with emotions, she speaks her mind out without knowing or understanding the consequences. Stella has no friends and obviously no boyfriend which was no concern for her but that’s not the case with her parents, they badly want her to find a boyfriend and settle down. One day after having an awkward conversation with Phillip, her colleague ; Stella decides to hire an escort believing that getting better at sex will help her to achieve a lasting relationship. After a long search through the online escorting site, she finalises Micheal to be her escort.

Micheal has been an escort for some years because of his families financial situations. He has four sisters, a sick and loving mother and grandparents who had to be taken care of as his father left them with no money and handful debts for another women. Micheal’s jaw dropping looks and body covering dragon tattoo has been an advantage for his escorting job. Micheal wanted to become a designer and start his own line but he doesnt have a choice other than escorting. Stella wanted Micheal to teach her sex and how to socialize in a relationship but Micheal does not do repeated sessions with clients due to some issues he faced before, but he couldnt say no to Stella and so he agreed to help her. Things get complicated when they both begin to fall for eachother thus leading to choas which leads to happiness in the end.

The Autistic behaviour of Stella has been well explained by the author by making the readers understand deeply about the oddity of an highly functioning autistic person. I loved the way Micheal treats Stella and listens to her and courts her like she is a treasure which he is supposed to cherish for his entire lifetime. Also, I love how Stella strategizes her every move; she treats Micheal with respect and not as some low level item she owns ,like Micheal’s previous clients. I was able to understand their feelings, their insecurities, their passion and love but I was not able to get attached to it . The book was not perfect but it was great in its own way. This book gives us a path to understand the world better. No one is alone here, there are so many like Stella and Micheal in this universe, among which many feel ashamed to express their trueself, we should make sure to treat them properly not differently.

This book is definitely a good read. Contemporary Romance lover will love this one

MY STAR RATING

Rating: 3 out of 5.

“If you can’t stand being with a woman who’s more successful than you, then leave her alone. She’s better off without you. If you actually love her, then know the value of that love and make it a promise. That is the only thing she needs from you.”

“This crusade to fix herself was ending right now. She wasn’t broken. She saw and interacted with the world in a different way, but that was her. She could change her actions, change her words, change her appearance, but she couldn’t change the root of herself. At her core, she would always be autistic. People called it a disorder, but it didn’t feel like one. To her, it was simply the way she was.”

“Women buy underwear for the men they love. It’s economics. Data supports this claim.”

Toodles…!!!
