The Bromance book club is the story of Gavin Scott a star baseball player of Nashville, he was happily married for three years(he thought so) with his beautiful wife Thea and his twin daughters Ava and Amelia. One fine day when Gavin and Thea where intimate, he realized that his wife has been faking big O the entire time. When Gavin confronted Thea about this and gave her a cold shoulder for over a month, he felt betrayed and ashamed that he couldnt listen what his wife had to say. Thea couldnt take it anymore, she poured her tantrum over Gavin and asked him for divorce. After a day, Gavin was found by his fellow teammates in a shitty motel room mopping and crying over his mistake. Gavin loved his wife so much that the word divorce literally broke him down, he realized his mistake of not listening to what Thea had to say but now its too late to correct it. On hearing his story his friends decided to help him with his relationship. His friend Del introduces him to a secret bookclub in which they read romance novels(which they call as manuals) to help them improve their relationship. The bookclub makes Gavin read the book “COURTING THE COUNTESS” in which the story line is similar to his life events. Also, Del, Mack and the Russian (Vlad) helps him by giving advices and ideas how to win his wife back.On the journey towards winning his wife back, he realizes his mistakes from the past and tries to rectify those, he also quotes the words of lord Benedict from the book to improve his way of handling her. Gavin makes sure that Thea can trust him and he is ready to do anything to save their marriage.
Meanwhile, in Thea’s point of view she is broken completely and tries to rebuild herself from the scratch. Thea had been all alone taking care of their daughters when Gavin was busy with his career, she had to drop her studies to support her husband and be there for her children. It broke her when Gavin couldnt see her suffering and did’nt support her in any possible ways. She stayed quiet until oneday when she couldnt take nomore. Gavin trying hard to win her back made her happy and confused at the same time, she couldnt snap out of the thought that he would go back to his oldself once he wins her back. But, Gavin has changed he is ready to do anything to make Thea and his daughters happy . Gavin understands that he cant change the past but he can go forward with his new changed version, all he has to do is to make Thea realize that ‘love is enough'(a quote from courting the countess) and make her acknowledge the backstory.
The story is written in a way that it doesnt blame Thea or Gavin completely for their seperation, it takes two to spoil a relationship. Often I felt sorry for Gavin seeing how hard he is trying despite the humiliation he recieves but I couldnt be angry on Thea for not forgiving him easily. The book made me laugh out loud at some places and it also made me cry at particular times. The Bromance book club was hilarious espescially when this guy, Mack was involved. Thea’s sister Liv annoyed me at times when she forced Thea to dump Gavin. There was a particular scene which crossed paths of Mack and Liv which was really funny and I felt a spark, but there was no storyline for them, but on reaching the epilouge I came to know that the author has published a book next in the bromance book club series “The Undercover Bromance” and that book is going to features the storyline of Mack and Liv ,I didnt think twice before ordering the book at midnight, there was a sweet curse from other books which where already in line waiting at my cart but I think it will be worth it. This book made me laugh, cry and think at the same time. Readers will not be disappointed with this one so romance, fiction and humour lovers can give this one a try.
